Our latest project is a Unit offering 16 permanent or respite places for people under 65 years, suffering from conditions such as Korsakoff's Syndrome, head injuries or strokes. The Unit offers a dynamic Activities Programme with a focus on maintaining abilities of daily living. Since the venture began in April 1998, individual people have shown considerable improvement in their self-esteem, behaviour and achievement and are involved in the running of the Unit, having formed their own Residents' Committee. They also have their own mini bus.
This 21 place Unit is a well-established facility, with a very low turnover of experienced staff. The people in this group have conditions such as Head Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, congenital physical conditions and associated Epilepsy and those requiring PEG feeding. The care regimes here have been particularly complimented over the years and respite clients return regularly.
This 25 place secure Unit is a homely, domestic style facility in keeping with the age group and has been organised in 2 seperate groups. A Snoezlen room has been created to offer a calm, peaceful space. Experienced staff offer dignified, respectful care in a comfortable setting.
Residents in this 24 place Unit are offered a flexible service, giving a high standard of care and choice in everyday living, resulting in contented clients.
We also offer a range of professional services which allow care in the home to be managed better. Including:- Chiropody, opticians, dentist, reflexology, masseuse, One to one therapy, Church services, mobile library, visiting ‘Pat Dog’
