Care home

A beautiful care home in stunning surroundings

Bandrum Nursing Home is set in the heart of the gorgeous Fife countryside, close to Dunfermline.

A comfortable and welcoming nursing home near Dunfermline, Scotland for specialist care you can count on

Choosing nursing care for a loved one can be upsetting and difficult. However, a good nursing home can provide the best possible care for your family member, with access to medical assistance, round the clock care and a huge range of activities to enjoy too. We take the pressure of care off you and allow your family member the chance to gain their own independence too. You're welcome to come and visit any time, and we encourage our residents to enjoy family events and occasions outside of Bandrum, too.

Activities and more for a fun and varied week:

  • Minibus available for days out, plus resident transportation for appointments and events
  • Access to the services of   external  professionals including hairdressers and therapists
  • Fortnightly church services for those who wish to attend
  • Picnics, coffee mornings and football trips - there's something for everyone
  • We have internet and computer access available for residents
  • We have regular visits from Cally our own therapy dog and encourage bringing family pets into the care home to visit residents.

Our on-site chef prepares a delicious home cooked menu every day from fresh ingredients and caters for
any special diet.

Links to the local community throughout Dunfermline

We take pride in being actively engaged in the local community, which in turn brings a lot of benefits to our residents. We work with several local clubs such as the Saline Golf Club and the Oakley Club. We offer visits to the local church, and organise trips to both local football matches and matches at the national stadium. We work closely with the Scottish Huntington’s Association and have just started an Art collaboration project with Luminate. We also work closely with Alzheimer Scotland, with whom we have hosted drop in clinics.

Nursing and palliative care in Dunfermline

We benefit greatly from being a local family run business as opposed to a large chain. We don't take direction from a distant head office and our owner remains firmly involved in the daily runnings of the business. This allows us to provide person-centred nursing care that is focused on each individual and their needs. We understand the importance of ensuring the necessary health care equipment is available at all times. Care plans are carefully drafted with the help of the relative and the staff here, ensuring we're delivering the great care your family is looking for. All of our care staff are SVQ qualified or working towards this, with trained staff on duty at all times. We have a GP visit twice weekly or more frequently if required.

If you would like to make an enquiry about availability, then contact admissions@bandrum.co.uk in the first instance.

Please note that we are unable to offer informal visits at present unless the offer of a placement has been confirmed.
